LOT Polish Airlines carried over one million passengers in July

LOT Polish Airlines carried 1,041,427 passengers. This is the highest number of passengers carried in a single month in the 94-year history of LOT Polish Airlines activity. The seat factor for flights performed in July 2023 was 83.5 percent and increased more than 4 pp. compared to the same period in 2019.

“A very successful first half of the summer is behind us. Our summer results allow us to look into the future with great optimism. I stand by my earlier forecast that LOT will carry 10 million passengers this year,” says Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.

The July 2023 passenger numbers are proof that not only has the airline industry recovered from months of pandemic-related restrictions but also that demand for air services is higher than in the same period in 2019.

Within the national network, the largest number of our passengers travelled to Cracow (28,260), Gdansk (25,485) and Wroclaw (22,098), on short-haul flights: to London (27,321), Vilnius (22,269) and Tel Aviv (22,080). On long-haul flights, on the other hand, New York (30,724), Toronto (29,596) and Chicago (23,507) were the most popular destinations.

LOT Polish Airlines is a modern carrier connecting Central and Eastern Europe with the rest of the world. LOT’s offer includes, inter alia, direct long-haul flights to airports in the United States, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, India. The Polish carrier has been consistently increasing the number of its flights to those destinations, thus strengthening its position in the Central and Eastern Europe. It operates its long-haul flights with Boeing 787 Dreamliner, one of the most advanced wide-body aircraft in the world. Present in the sky since 1929, the Polish carrier is the 12th oldest airline worldwide, being one of the most internationally recognisable Polish brands.
